Tips

How to Get the Most Out of Your Tour

1. Make it a Party

Get your friends together or invite another couple to join you, and consider a Sleep Over at our sponsor’s lovely Canalta Hotel Selkirk.

2. Plan Ahead

Wear good walking shoes that you can easily kick off and slip on as you enter and exit the properties. Review the property profiles and the map in the centre of your tour guide and plan your route. You can start anywhere! Or, buy a Park & Ride ticket.

3. Start Early

Give yourself a few hours to see all the sites.

4. Respect

Be mindful not to block the driveways of our neighbours or block other cars.

5. Take Notes & Ask Questions

Collect ideas of decor you’d like to replicate in your home. Ask us where we got our decorating ideas, purchased our Christmas décor and about the history of our property.

6. Visit Holiday Alley

Give yourself extra time to enjoy local talent, treats and treasures on Holiday Alley, an arts and culture celebration on Manitoba Ave. East in downtown Selkirk.

7. Shop

Buy our Homes for the Holidays tea at the Three6Tea in Selkirk. Buy original fine art, crafts and artisans’ wares along the tour.

8. Feel Lucky

Enter the Silent Auction at 216 Manitoba Ave East on Holiday Alley. Proceeds from this year’s silent auction go towards Inclusion Selkirk and the Homes for All Fund at the Selkirk and District Community Foundation.

9. Refuel

Stop on Holiday Alley (Manitoba Ave. East in downtown Selkirk) Friday night or anytime Saturday for the soup cook off, beer tasting, hot chocolate, and amazing fresh fruit juices.

10. Provide Feedback

Fill in and drop off your evaluation form at The Riverside Grill at the corner of Eveline Street and Manitoba Ave in Selkirk and you’ll be entered to win one of several prizes.
