Tips

How to Get the Most Out of Your Tour

1. Make it a Party

Get your friends together or invite another couple to join you, and consider a Sleep Over at our sponsor’s lovely Canalta Hotel Selkirk.

2. Plan Ahead

Wear good walking shoes that you can easily kick off and slip on as you enter and exit the properties. Review the property profiles and the map in the centre of your tour guide and plan your route. You can start anywhere! Or, buy a Park & Ride ticket.

3. Start Early

Give yourself a few hours to see all the sites.

4. Respect

Be mindful not to block the driveways of our neighbours or block other cars.

5. Take Notes & Ask Questions

Collect ideas of decor you’d like to replicate in your home. Ask us where we got our decorating ideas, purchased our Christmas décor and about the history of our property.

6. Visit Holiday Alley

Give yourself extra time to enjoy local talent, treats and treasures on Stop #9 on your tour – Holiday Alley, on Manitoba Ave. East in downtown Selkirk.

7. Shop

Buy our Homes for the Holidays tea at the Three6Tea stop on Holiday Alley. Buy original fine art, crafts and artisans’ wares along the tour.

8. Feel Lucky

Enter the Silent Auction at Knox Presbyterian Church in Selkirk. Or buy a ticket for the Homes for the Holidays cash raffle.

9. Refuel

Stop on Holiday Alley (Manitoba Ave. East in downtown Selkirk) Friday night or anytime Saturday for the soup cook off, beer and vodka tasting and amazing fresh fruit juices. You can also enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and homemade goodies at Knox Presbyterian Church.

10. Provide Feedback

Drop off evaluation forms at Knox Presbyterian Church on Eveline Street in Selkirk and enter to win one of several prizes.
